Atheist Feelings on Christians

Agnosticism is a stance on religion that simply states that there is no way to prove whether or not the ideas that the religious believe in are real. Atheists either take this stance, or have a firm disbelief in all religions and their deities. They mostly believe that there is a biological reason behind why everything is in existence. They often feel that major religions, such as Christianity, are slowing down the progress and overall well-being of the human race.

In courtroom trials, all people are made to swear on a Bible, but not all people necessarily believe in this traditional oath. Atheists believe that swearing on a Bible does them no good, along with the millions of other people who practice a religion other than Christianity. For some people, lying after swearing on a book they do not believe in is no problem. While they do not believe in the God the Bible speaks of, they do have moral standards that they live by. They feel that all people should instead be asked to make a promise based on their own morals and the concept that they will be punished if found to be lying. Atheists are firm believers in the principle of the separation of church and state.

While atheists are not necessarily against Christians and what they practice, they do not believe that they have any right to force their beliefs on other people. Some atheists see that some Christians are using God to dictate what all people, whether they are believers or not, can and can't do. One example of this is when the Catholic church took over a hospital in a community. Atheists ended up building another hospital because the Catholics made birth control and family planning unavailable.
