The Muslim View Of Jesus

If you examine the Muslim view of Jesus, you will find they believe that Jesus was the Messiah, Allah's messenger. Since Allah tells all Muslims to listen to His messenger, all Muslims listen to the words of Jesus.

If you compare the view of the birth of Jesus in these religions, you will find similarities and significant differences. In Christian beliefs Jesus was born from a perpetual virgin, Mary, and a father, Joseph. Islam says that Jesus was born of a virginal conception decreed by Allah. There is no mention of a father called Joseph. Islam calls the mother of Jesus, Maryam.

Doing a comparison of the mission of Jesus in both traditions, you find that both believe that Jesus came to bring the good news of God. The difference is that Islam believes that Jesus was a Muslim and not a Jew. Jesus came to preach the straight path to Allah. Islam does not believe that Jesus was God's son, but rather He was a human chosen by Allah to spread his message.

The Christian faith believes that Jesus suffered, died, was buried and rose from the dead. The Koran (4:156) says they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but they thought they did. God lifted him, alive, up to heaven. They also believe that Jesus will return to earth, and that God is Almighty.

Lastly, Christianity believes in a Trinity. That God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the Muslim tradition, there is no belief in a Trinity.
