The word atheist began as meaning someone who did not practice or believe in religion, per say. Non-believers in a deity or personal God adopted the word to describe themselves. There are a number of different beliefs that claim to be atheists.
An atheist does not believe in God as a deity, or anything else as one either. However, atheists can be religious also, even praying from time to time. Some even attend Christian church services claiming that you do not have to believe in a God to get something out of a religious service.
Wiccans are often considered to be atheists because they do not worship one God, but may worship a Goddess and God. However, their main belief is in worshiping nature and the things Christians consider made by God.
There is not any specific information on what an atheist thinks about Christians or Christianity. Their belief is to basically “live and let live." They don’t force their beliefs on others and expect other to reciprocate in kind. They do feel that perhaps their moral values are stronger than a Christian who might ask the question, “If there is no God why should I behave?" An atheist claims they behave because it is the right thing to do, and they don’t have to believe in a God to know that.
As long as there are Christians and Atheists in this world, there will be arguments and differences of opinion.
