Within the community of Christians there is much controversy of how to deal with divorce. There is one section of people who believe there are only certain circumstances for divorce that are acceptable such as adultery. If those circumstances are not the cause of divorce, in their eyes, then it is not acceptable. There are a number of other people that feel, regardless of the cause, a family needs ministering whether or not there has been a divorce.
Christians in general, believe we are all sinners and need an opportunity for redemption if we choose to seek it; divorce is no different. They support those who make the decision to seek redemption per their definition. There are some people who take time out and try to find themselves before they seek the religious guidance to get back into the swing of things. There are others who seek the comfort and guidance of their fellow Christians to recover from divorce; it can be devastating.
There is a lot of counseling available and offered to those who are undergoing it and have divorced. There are a number of support groups that are organized as well. In addition to the support groups, many individual Christians offer to help on an individual level. Regardless of the general view of the people involved, the Christan community is rather supportive and offers comfort to those in need. They tend to hold to their core value of fellowship and guidance to make it through the trials of life. They see divorce as another trial, regardless of their personal convictions of the action itself.
