Unfortunately, we live in a time where it is easy to lawfully terminate a marriage. However, Christians need to continue to be encouraging and strong in their beliefs regarding marriage and divorce. Divorce is viewed negatively by most Christian believers. The Bible teaches that we are not our own, we belong to God and therefore should honor Him with our bodies, which includes our thoughts and actions. The only times divorce is viewed to be acceptable is when a non-Christian spouse wants to leave the other (who is a believer), or if adultery was committed.
There are many helpful solutions and programs available in communities that help to strengthen and rekindle struggling marriages. If both spouses are true believers in Christ, they will usually find a way to work out their differences through counseling, prayer and communication. No one said that marriage would be easy. It takes a lot of hard work, compromising and sacrifice.
Divorce is not the first plan of action when a Christian marriage is facing difficulties and problems. It is a Christian's duty to try and live in a way that gives God glory and does not cause other people to fall away from Christ. If you have been divorced and remarried before, you trust that God has already forgiven you for your sins.
We live in a nation plentiful with broken people and families. Divorce is a man-made option that scars the heart and soul for a lifetime. It is not our place to condemn others. People who have been divorced are already dealing with conviction from the Holy Spirit. Most believers are willing to help those couples facing difficulties. Christians take pride in serving God and try to work their differences and problems out.
